To get started in business you have to get an idea. What is the problem that you are going to solve?
If you have the desire to be an entrepreneur and coach, but don’t know what you want to do, an excellent place to start is to do a skill, knowledge, and asset brainstorming session2.
Start listing the things you are passionate about. The things you are good at doing. The knowledge you have gained from your life experiences.
What assets do you have? Are you a good listener? Are you a good speaker?
What qualities do you have that make you uniquely you?

After you have created your idea, you “Learn the Method”. How will you get your idea out to your audience in a way that makes them want to pay you?
There is no one method. Choose the method that best suits your personality. It can be 1:1 coaching, a self-paced course, group coaching or a combination of the above.
As you are designing your method, look at the value equation 3.
What is the dream outcome your audience wants?
How can you provide your solution in a way that your audience can see themselves actually accomplishing their desire?
How can you decrease the amount of time it takes to attain this solution?
How can you increase the ease that your audience experiences as they take the steps required to solve their problem?
You come up with a strategy that you think can work. Then you put it out there. You assess the results and tweak them if necessary.

Okay, you have your idea and have chosen your method. You have made good progress but have begun to doubt yourself. Don’t worry this happens to every entrepreneur and coach at some time in their process of growth.
This is when you practice faith.
Develop methods for dealing with discouragement and times when you are not sure what the next step is.
It is essential to your well-being that you practice self-care and are able to shift your belief patterns when you start going down the path of negativity.

The last key is something that infuses all of the steps.. You want to align your energy. This is a two-fold step.
One aspect of your energy is actually doing the tasks that are required to create and build your business. The work you do with your heart, head, and hands to create the finest product you or anyone is capable of.
The second aspect of energy is actually a component of step 3. What are you thinking? How are you presenting yourself to the world? What mood are you in when you are creating a program, coaching a client, or getting on a sales call?
Your energy can be perceived by your audience, even if you pretend or try to ignore your feelings.
For instance, I recently contacted my tax guy. He has done my taxes for many years. He is always friendly and helpful. But something was different this year, and I could not put my finger on it.
We were communicating via email, yet I felt his disconnection. I had a sense he did not really want to do my taxes. I began to wonder if he had actually retired from accounting, but was doing my taxes because we had worked together for so long.
About a month after he completed my taxes I received his letter saying he was retiring and had sold his practice.
Even though we communicated by email, his energy was being transported to me. That is the way of energy. This is why your want to your energy to be aligned with your highest good and the highest good of others.
So, before you get on a call, write a post, send an email, or create an ad take a moment to set your intention and infuse your task with positive energy.
